Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood celebration went down this weekend, and Jake Shane was among this year's invitees. The magazine's issue highlights Hollywood’s hottest emerging talent and industry influencers and this year, Sabrina Carpenter, Saturday Night Live's Marcello Hernández and Sadie Sink were named at this year’s Power of Young Hollywood honorees.
Jake, who hosts the popular Therapuss podcast, found himself a bit overwhelmed at the event and shared a selfie on Instagram of himself being close to tears over the weekend. "Someone on the red carpet just asked me 'How does it feel being amongst the who’s who of Hollywood' and I said 'I feel very WHO WHO'," he captioned the snap.
In the comments, he added: "I’m panicking so bad holy f--k."
The Internet personality looked dapper as he kept it polished and youthful on the red carpet wearing a black suit with a crisp white T-shirt and matching white sneakers. When talking to Variety on the red carpet, Jake opened up about the pop stars that were being celebrated, especially after Sabrina had such a smash hit with "Espresso," who was the cover star.

"It's all I have ever wanted, ever in my life, this summer has been awesome as a pop fan," he said at the Santa Monica Proper Hotel on Aug. 8, in Santa Monica, California. "Especially Sabrina, it's a moment it's never really overnight. You know Sabrina has been at this for like 10 to 15 years and I feel like a lot of people think it's an overnight thing and it's not so it's so cool to see someone have such a moment after so much hard work."
He added: "I also love seeing Marcello because it's reminding me that there's always fresh faces in comedy and it's always so awesome to see and he's just the best."
Jake, whose full name is Jacob Shane Roshkow, became known for his content under his Octopusslover8 username. The influencer went viral thanks to his TikTok videos which featured his comedic reenactments of historical events. He currently has 3.1 million followers on the social media platform.
The TikTok star's Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast launched on Spotify and Apple Podcasts in January. After finding success on the video platform, Jake leaned into longer-form content with the podcast that sort of models after a real therapy session, with listeners calling in to share their problems with Jake and a rotating co-host, who are a celebrity guest. Most recently he featured Barbie star Ariana Greenblatt on the show.
