Meghan Markle received an olive branch from Kate Middleton to "clear the air" following a bombshell allegation, according to reports .

The Princess of Wales reportedly called Meghan to "ease the tension" in the wake of Omid Scobie's explosive book Endgame, which reignited a race row within the Royal Family . The race row started three years ago when Prince Harry and Meghan made shocking allegations to Oprah Winfrey about racist comments concerning their son Archie's skin color.

The controversy was reignited when King Charles and Princess Kate were dragged into a row following the publication of Endgame . A source has now claimed Kate reached out to Meghan amid the drama.

Speaking to In Touch Weekly, the source claimed: "Shortly after the book's allegations came out, Kate reached out to Meghan to clear the air," noting that it was at King Charles' request after Prince William declined to act as the mediator. "Charles forced Kate to become his peacemaker after William's refusal."

The insider highlighted Kate's deep sense of duty, stating: "She agreed, because when it comes to the Royal Family, Kate has always taken her duties seriously - she does what she is told." Commenting further on the feud's impact, the source added: "This feud has gotten so unseemly and out of hand, it's starting to overshadow his reign and the entire monarchy.

"He wants to heal the rift once and for all." When Kate and Charles were dragged into the royal race row, Omid Scobie initially denied including their names in the book and blamed an "error" for their names ending up in the final copy.

The royal author made a startling admission after performing a U-turn about his book, confessing that an "early" draft of Endgame did indeed identify the so-called "royal racists". He explained that this "uncleared text" was mistakenly sent to a Dutch publishing house, Xander Uitgevers, who acknowledged an "error" led to Charles and Kate being named.

Despite initially denying the incident, Omid clarified during a BBC interview: "The book I wrote, the book I edited, the book I signed off on, did not have names in it."
