Prince Harry's newly appointed chief of staff, Josh Kettler, has surprisingly resigned just three months into his role. The reason behind this sudden departure has now been disclosed.

Josh Kettler , a veteran in the public relations industry, joined the Duke of Sussex 's team shortly before Harry and Meghan Markle's three-day visit to Nigeria in May. He was also spotted alongside Harry at St Paul's Cathedral during his most recent trip to London for the 10th-anniversary service of his Invictus Games.

However, Mr. Kettler has stepped down from his position, which he reportedly took on to "guide him [Harry] through his next phase". It is believed that Mr. Kettler's decision to leave was 'mutual' and that he was hired on a trial basis, with "both sides agreeing it wasn't the right fit".

Mr. Kettler, who was based in Santa Barbara close to the Sussexes ' Montecito residence, had previously held the positions of chief of staff and head of strategic partnerships at the communication platform Cognixion. He also had experience working for the outdoor clothing brand Patagonia.

Since relocating to California, Harry and Meghan have seen several employees depart. One former employee told the publication: "What may be most telling is that the entire time I worked there, I don't think I heard a single current or former employee on their staff say they would take the job again if given the chance.", reports the Mirror .

"These aren't employees they had just found off the streets. Many of them are people who had previously excelled working for demanding bosses in high-performance companies and environments."

Harry and Meghan are all set for a 'royal-style' tour in Colombia, following an invite from the nation's vice president Francia Marquez. Sources say this comes amid the buzz of Mr Kettler's exit.

The Sussexes will grace the capital Bogota and scenic coastal spots. Vice President Marquez, renowned for her legal, human rights and environmental activism, gushed: "During their trip, the duke and duchess will join me in visiting Bogota, as well as the Caribbean and Pacific regions of Cartagena and Cali."

She highlighted that, "In these vibrant locations, they will have the exceptional opportunity to engage with leaders, youth and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians committed to progress. In addition to these meaningful interactions, the duke and duchess will experience the rich heritage of Colombia."
