Kylie Jenner has revealed the real reason why she changed her son Aire Webster's name and admits she was "hysterically crying" throughout the stressful baby naming process.
In a new raw interview with British Vogue , the 27-year-old reality star opened up about being her struggles with prolonged postpartum depression and the emotional journey to re-naming her baby. In 2022, Kylie gave birth to her now two-year-old son Aire with her ex-boyfriend rapper Travis Scott . And while she's content with her baby's name now, Kylie admitted it was a long, tear-filled process filled with self-doubt.
Kylie confessed that it took her a whole year to settle on a name for her son. She explained: "When I met him, he was just the most beautiful thing to me and I couldn’t believe just how perfect he was. I felt like such a failure that I couldn’t name him. He deserved so much more than that. It just really triggered me.”

The young mother of two explained that at the time she was navigating postpartum depression and "major baby blues" so she was having difficulty making the life-long decision for her baby. She recalled experiencing very heightened emotions at the time and remembered crying to her mom Kris Jenner over the phone about picking out her son's name.
She said: "I was just so emotional over things that I probably wouldn’t be that emotional about [typically]. On the phone with my mom all day hysterically crying, saying, ‘I can’t figure out his name," and added: "Now my advice to all my friends having children is pick the name before, because when the hormones hit you can’t make decisions. You can’t."
After landing on the final decision to rename her baby, Kylie jokes that her youngest daughter Stormi still brings up the name switch even now. She said: “My son’s name was actually Knight for a long time and my daughter, still to this day, is like, ‘Do you remember when Aire’s name was Knight?’ And I’m like,” Kylie then shifts into her deadpan mom-mode voice: “‘No.’ And she’s like, ‘That was so funny, Mom. I like Knight better.’ And I’m like: ‘You know what, we are not doing this again.’”
