The drama that is around It Ends With Us seems to be never-ending.

Blake Lively recently confessed that she didn’t waver from a certain creative choice she insisted on being left in the new movie despite being “begged” to do so. The Gossip Girl alum has already caught flak with It Ends With Us fans, with some not approving of the way she's promoted the film, claiming she's not focusing on the serious topic matter .

Sometime during the film, the song Cherry by Lana Del Rey plays, starting as Blake’s character Lily Bloom is making a flower arrangement.

Cherry plays in a panning shot of the city, going on to show characters Allysa (Jenny Slate) and Marshall (Hasan Minhaj) announcing they’re having a child together.

Blake’s song choice for the film didn’t go over well with the team. While the team believed it was best to axe Lana’s record from the film, Blake obviously didn’t agree since she refused to do it.

“I’m not supposed to be talking about this. They begged me to take that movie out – that song out of the movie,” the actor said in an interview with Hits Radio UK. “They felt like it was, like, too charged and heavy and things are still good with Ryle at that point so you don’t wanna feel that charge.”

Most of the team viewed the song as being inappropriate for the scene, especially concerning the whole film, but Blake stuck to her guns.

“F--k, the moment Atlas enters, things are charged and heavy. Like there’s conflict, there’s pain, there’s turmoil, there’s tension,” the movie star added. “Oh my God, my soul mate, the one that got away in my life, this person who’s haunting me in everything I do and everywhere I go, is here now and we still had that connection.

She continued: “And you can be deeply in love with this person, but this person comes in, and you’re like, your insides are gonna be a mess.”

Some fans of It Ends With Us agree with Blake’s team in feeling that the song Cherry shouldn’t have been used in the movie.

One person commented on social media. “Cherry was definitely not the right song, especially when Lana has been called out for romanticizing abuse with her music which keeps feeding that narrative.”

Meanwhile, another person added that, “I love Cherry but it was not the right song choice.”
