Gypsy Rose Blanchard's ex-cellmate claims she 'lied' to Kim Kardashian about prison experience

Prisoner turned pop culture phenomenon Gypsy Rose Blanchard is being criticized by someone from her past for being disingenuous with Kim Kardashian during her appearance on the reality star’s Hulu series.

Last month Gypsy went on The Kardashians to talk with Kim , who’s pursuing a law degree and advocates for criminal justice reform, about prison reform. In the episode, Gypsy was forthcoming about her prison experience, claiming that her request for therapy sessions while she was locked up was rejected. Since the show, Rachell Garlick, someone who was an inmate with Gypsy in prison, claims that what she revealed to the Skims founder wasn’t real.

“This is for you Kim. Gypsy lied straight to your face,” Rachell shared in a TikTok video. Because all you got to do is fly a kite and go to mental health, I did it."

Rachell insisted that what she was saying was legitimate and that she’d be willing to prove it.

"Put me on a lie detector test. Seriously," she declared. "Because she told me she did not need help, that she's fine." Rachel doubled down on her assertion, adding, "You can get help in prison. Especially the prison that we went to because I'm doing good. I took prison for what it was. It teaches you stability."

Toward the end of her video, Rachell claimed that Gypsy had “got in trouble for tricking men” at the prison. Gypsy did an 8-year bid in prison on second-degree murder charges after having her ex murder her mother.

One social media user near the story pointed out that "according to Missouri Dept of Corrections, all inmates have access to mental health care at anytime,” per OK! magazine.

They continued: "An initial evaluation is done in the beginning at intake. However, inmates can go to the mental health unit at anytime and request one on one therapy.”

The Mirror has reached out to Gypsy's team for comment, but we haven't heard anything back yet. Gypsy has been receiving much media attention since she was released in December 2023, becoming the source of conversation after she filed for divorce from Ryan Scott Anderson. Following her divorce from Ryan, Gypsy got back with her ex-fiance Ken Urker.

She and Ken are expecting their first child together next year.

"We're both very excited. This was not planned at all, it was completely unexpected," Gypsy revealed in a YouTube video.

"I know that there are going to be people that feel like I'm not ready to be a mother. All the things I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby," she spilled. "You know, knowing that I am a mother now, and I'm happy, and I just want to be a good mother for my child. I want to be everything my mother wasn't."
