"This post is dedicated to my team. My people. The people who stood with me through it all. All the sweat, blood, tears," she said. "The days that almost killed me, And the ones I killed. "That’s what it will take to stay here. Literally could not do it without them. It takes a village. I love you all! We did it. To all those not pictured, we love you!"

McLaughlin-Levrone, who's in her mid-20s, will be one of Team USA's stars at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. And she has already set an ambitious goal to reach before the home Games, or on the West Coast. She wants to try and break the 50-second mark in the 400m hurdles.

“I was hoping it’d be a little faster, but I’m sure there are some things in the middle there we can clean up,” the Texan said. "There’s always more work to do.”

However, the height of the hurdles could be increased, as they're currently six inches lower than that of the men's event. Lord Sebastian Coe, the chief of World Athletics, has been talking about raising the height of the hurdles.

He explained: "There's probably a case now for looking at the height of the hurdles because these guys don't really look like they are breaking their form very much. That's a mixture of good hurdling and, probably, the height."

"This is a very much a personal view," Coe added. "But I've spoken to a couple of the 400m hurdlers and they think that, actually, it's probably something we might want to look at."
