During Troy Meyer's time on Jeopardy!'s Tournament of Champions, he took every moment he could to talk about his 'supportive and loving' wife .
As Season 40 has ended since July 26 and Jeopardy! is on a hiatus till Season 41 comes back on September 9, the trivia show has been playing reruns. This week showed Tournament of Champion Week three. The re-run for Thursday's episode, August 15, was the ToC game that aired on March 18, 2024 with contestants Ben Chan, Troy Meyer, and Yogesh Raut going head to head.
At one point in the game, host Ken Jennings evoked a tradition that the late Alex Trebek would do. Ken said Alex would ask finalists who would they like to thank if they had mic time. Troy responded: "I think she would kill me if I didn't start with her. So I'd say, I'd like to thank my wife Genevieve who's been so supportive of me in this process and, you know, she was on this show and she understands what it takes. And no one can be more supportive, and loving. I give a lot of credit to her."

He then went on to thank his bother Trevor, his quiz team, and shouted out the Cleveland Cavaliers. Many want to know more behind the woman who has obviously captured the music executive's heart and has been on Jeopardy! before.
Genevieve and her family first emigrated from Ireland to Canada and then settled in United States specifically Tampa Florida according to the New York Times ' article about her and Troy's marriage. She went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Social Studies from Harvard University, where she attended from 2001-2005, per her LinkedIn profile. Later, she obtained a MBA with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School in 2012, graduating with high distinction in the top five percent of her class.
She has a career in finance with prior jobs such as senior product manager for Zygna, senior director of product management at Dropbox and vice president of settlement services at Snapdocs. She currently works at Atlassian as the the vice president of product and the general manager of Confluence since June 2022.

The Florida native and Troy first met through an "invitation-only online fan site." per The New York Times. He got her to go on “even more dorky” website especially for “Jeopardy!” fans. They played their first online game there and she won. The two began exchanging messages but it stayed platonic as Genevieve was in a relationship at a time.
Troy first saw her despite their constant communication when she appeared on Jeopardy! in October 2009. She did not end up winning but did answer a Daily Double correctly and was ahead twice in the game. He was mesmerized by her beauty through the TV screen and the two finally met in person after many more online chats as well as Genevieve being single. He flew to Boston to meet her in November 2009 and the rest was history.
The two married in December 30, 2010, at St. Mary’s Church in Navan, Ireland, near Dublin. They also have have one child together. In a Facebook post made by Genevieve, she announced on March 5 that they had a baby girl named Lola. In 2022, she also made another game show appearance by competing in ABC's The Chase. She went up against former Jeopardy! ToC winner, James Holzhauer and won with her team.
