Rockstar Jack Russell has sadly died at the age of 63, his Great White band members have announced.

The musician died on Thursday surrounded by his family, including his wife Heather Ann and son Matthew Hucko. His death comes a month after he was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia, which impacted his motor skills.

Great White announced Jack's death in a statement shared on X, formerly known as Twitter . "Our deepest condolences to the family of Jack Russell. We hope they take comfort in knowing Jack's incredible voice will live on forever. His love for the fans and his sons went unmatched, as was his own love for rock music," they wrote.

Jack's cause of death has been confirmed to be Lewy body dementia and multiple system atrophy, his representative told TMZ . Jack's band members also remembered him for being by their side throughout "the good and the bad".

They continued: "All those wonderful years together will be held close to our hearts. It was a privilege and joy to share the stage with him - many shows, many miles, and maximum rock. In the studio, Jack was amazing.

"He always came ready to work. And work hard, he did. Jack stayed until he got the best performance for each song. He brought the same excellence to every show. The consistency of his live performances were always beyond comparison."

They finished their statement by remembering Jack as "one of rock's biggest champions". Tributes poured in from fans in the comments, with one person writing: "Brilliant singer who didn’t get the credit he deserved!"

Another said: "I'm glad I got to meet Jack once. He was very kind and signed 3 of my CDs. I'm so sorry he's gone. One of my favorite singers. Playing the music now." A third fan posted: "This sucks. Hate it. Absolutely loved hearing Jacks voice. Prayers for him, his family, and his former band mates. Fly high Jack."

Jack founded Great White as Dante Fox in 1977 with Mark Kendall, before they later decided to change the name. Great White were known for the hit songs Rock Me, The Angel Song and Once Bitten, Twice Shy.

Jack was with the band until 1996 before starting his solo career. As a solo artist, he released albums such as Shelter Me and For You. He then re-joined Great White in 2002, renaming it Jack Russell's Great White.
