Harry and Meghan 'love being fed, pampered and entertained as celebrities' on tour

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have finished their first day of their Colombia tour, with one expert suggesting they love being treated like celebrities .

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex landed in the South American country last night and were greeted by the vice-president Francia Marquez. The couple met with pupils at a school before enjoying a musical performance at an arts center in Bogota.

Harry and Meghan finished their first day by attending an internet safety summit . Royal author Tom Quinn has claimed members of the Royal Family are angry with the Sussexes over the tour and think they love to be "pampered and entertained as celebrities".

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror US, Quinn said: "Prince William and his father see the Columbia visit as a desperate attempt by the Sussexes to maintain their public profile, in the face of mounting evidence that the couple’s star is waning.

"Numerous polls in the States suggest that Meghan and Harry are no longer seen as either interesting or influential and that will be causing the couple a great deal of pain. Their response?

"Visit any country that will have them and pay them the sort of attention they think they deserve." He suggested Harry and Meghan's Colombia trip will make any chance of a royal reunion "even more remote."

Quinn continued: "And with this in mind they will try to organize more tours in future – playing royal is now seen by the couple as their safety net. When all else fails they can at least play at being real royals. As the couple have realised playing royal is so much easier than making your way in the world of business and entertainment.

"A fake Royal tour in a country where Meghan and Harry can probably pass as the real thing will always be a temptation – Meghan and Harry have always loved being fed, pampered and entertained as celebrities and as time passes, we will see them doing a great deal more of this sort of thing, even if it really annoys Harry’s family back in the UK. In fact, annoying the family is without question part of the appeal."
