Elvis Presley's ex-lover Linda Thompson returns to Graceland in touching new photos

Elvis Presley's ex-girlfriend and former Miss Tennessee model Linda Thompson has made a nostalgic return to Graceland for Elvis Week. The 74-year-old star took to social media to share fresh photos from inside her once-shared home with Elvis, pointing out her personal touches to the iconic estate and sharing some throwback pictures as well.

Linda dated the King of Rock and Roll from 1972-76 and lived with him at the world-famous Memphis mansion, reports the Express . In a post to Instagram the former beau shared a tear-jerking post reminiscing on the times she spent in the house.

Her Instagram post read: "Guess where I am? Back in my former home, Graceland, to share memories of the king of rock and roll and many hearts... including mine."

She expressed her honor at being a guest of EPE and Graceland and the joy of meeting fans who cherish Elvis's enduring legacy.

Linda's post included: "Scroll through to see the stained glass peacocks I designed and had made that separate the living room from the music room... The famous jungle room that Elvis and I decorated together...

"And his beautiful Maltese cross that I designed and had made for Elvis - his 1973 Christmas gift from me. And finally a couple of throwback photos. The memories I have from living in this home with Elvis for 4 1/2 years are deeply carved into my being.

"Those years helped to shape me into the woman I have become. I continue to be grateful for the rarified privilege of having so intimately known such an astounding human soul! ".

The King of Rock n Roll died on August 16, 1977, with his passing sending shockwaves throughout the music industry at the time. The Suspicious Minds singer was aged just 42 when he died at his Memphis home, Graceland.
