    By Jeremy Goldstein,

    2024-08-16

The 2024-25 Premier League season kicked off with a narrow 1-0 Manchester United victory over Fulham at Old Trafford on Friday.

New signing Joshua Zirkzee capped his debut with an 87th minute winner. Does this portend further new signings making a big first impression for other clubs? Many of the Premier League 's 18 remaining sides will hope so.

All 2024-25 Premier League games in the United States will feature across the NBC family of networks for a 12th straight season. The company renewed its rights with an eye-watering $450 million-a-season six-year contract in 2022.

    Opening Weekend Storylines

Tottenham Hotspur 's £65 million move for strike Dominic Solanke made him the most expensive Premier League signing of the summer, but he's unlikely to start having just been confirmed for the club. His replacement at Bournemouth, Evanilson (worth £40 million plus add-ons), is unlikely to start either.

So what other debutants could set the league ablaze? Look for newboys Ipswich Town and its striker Liam Delap to find the back of the net against Liverpool . What about Pedro Neto on his Chelsea debut? Or could we see the league's 15th all-time leading scorer, Jamie Vardy, mark a magical return to the Premier League with a goal for Leicester City?

One man who has already enjoyed a magical moment in the Premier League is Zirkzee. "I've been told (scoring at Old Trafford's Stretford End) it's one of the best feelings at Manchester United," he said after his goal against Fulham.

"I'm so thankful and blessed I could experience it in my first game. It's an amazing feeling. It's been amazing, it's been a dream actually."

How to watch the Premier League on Peacock

Premier League fans in the United States looking to watch every game should be aware of NBC's streaming service Peacock, which will carry 175 exclusive games this season.

A Peacock Premium plan costs either $7.99 monthly (plus tax) or $79.99 annually (plus), a marked increase from the $59.99 annual rate from last year.
