Noah Lyles came to the defense of his partner Junelle Bromfield on social media after she appeared to receive hate mail for her relationship with the American track star .

In particular, the hate Bromfield is receiving stems from the fact that Lyles claimed he had been receiving "drama" from Jamaica in recent years. Because of Bromfield's relationship with Lyles , many fans on social media also have speculated the 26-year-old could have given the American a leg up in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, which led to Lyles posting on social media to defend Bromfield.

"I just want to say how incredibly proud I am of my GF and give her the flowers she deserves now," his post on social media began . "She has been through so much in her life that I could never imagine fighting through.

"Beyond that she is a survivor, 2x Olympian, Olympic medalists, Multi world championship medalist, and has been representing Jamaica on the world stage since she was 8 years old. But the most impressive thing I’ve seen recently is how she’s dealt with the pure disrespect and hatred towards her from her own country.

"This woman has been attacked by people who have never met her, heard her name before, never seen her smile, or heard what she believes in. But she keeps moving forward knowing that God will always make a way. Thats why God keeps blessing her!"

Many on social media questioned Lyles' post, claiming the reason Bromfield is receiving any hate in the first place is because the American elected to divulge information that seemingly was meant to remain behind closed doors. "I'm not a fan of either one of yall but, to be fair she was just chilling and you started talking about things she tell you in private on podcast. Your mouth is the reason she was trending on Twitter for the whole 2 weeks of the Olympics," a commenter posted.

Another poster believed the undue attention should be directed at Lyles and not Bromfield, stating: "Maybe try respecting boundaries in your relationship and not revealing private and sensitive information she thought would be helpful to her boyfriend. The hate should be tripled and sent to you, not her."

The backlash in question stems from a July interview the American track star did. During the interview, Lyles inadvertently shared that Bromfield had told him about some aspects of the inner workings of the Jamaican team.

“Junelle being Jamaican and having trained in MVP, I have been getting a lot of drama from the Jamaica camp for at least five years now,” the 27-year-old said at the time [ h/t Jamaica Observer ]. “There are a lot of times I make references about Jamaicans, but I am not trying to go back and forth, like I know information that other people don’t.”

On Instagram, Bromfield posted a lengthy comment thanking Lyles for supporting her, even before the two started dating. "I remember 2019 you had just became World Champion and my brother passed away around that time in the midst celebrating one of your biggest achievements You tried so hard to make me feel better to help me see the positive in life and how God will always pull out of dark situation," her reply began.

She then explained how Lyles did what he could to support her during Christmastime, buying whatever she wanted to showcase what kind of person he was away from the spotlight. "Because you said Christmas is about giving and no friend of yours will go without a gift," she continued.

"That's the type of person you are. I love and appreciate you always."
