Jake Paul suggests late but huge rule change to Mike Tyson fight

In a bold challenge, Jake Paul upped the ante for his forthcoming battle against Mike Tyson by suggesting they go the distance over 10 three-minute rounds.

The brash YouTuber and boxing heavyweight legend Tyson were initially set to face off in Texas last month, but health issues led to Tyson ducking out two months ahead of time , citing an ulcer flare-up. A stand-in was defeated by Paul in November following the rescheduling.

A supposedly fit-again Tyson is gearing up to enter the ring for the first professional bout since his lackluster tie with Roy Jones Jr in 2020. However, while this clash with Paul will officially go on their boxing records, it's planned to stray from convention with eight two-minute rounds instead.

The stakes increased when Paul faced Tyson during a New York press event on Sunday, throwing down the gauntlet to lengthen the rounds. Tyson had warned: "Be in shape, be in good shape because your health depends on it," prompting Paul to fire back: "You're the one who wanted right two-minute rounds, want to make it 10x3? Don't talk to me about shape, you want 10x3? "

To which Tyson offered no immediate response. Paul didn't let up, adding: "That's the thing, everyone's all talk, I'll do whenever, wherever, it's all talk. I'm stating facts, he's ---- -talking."

Tyson eventually broke his silence ominously advising Paul, "Be careful... he should be very careful."

Paul confidently declared his intention to knock out Tyson later this year, stating: "People are always going to have something to say, it's because I've proved everyone wrong. I'm here to make history, I'm here for a challenge and I'm here to fight one of the most dangerous men in boxing."

"He's vicious, he's a killer, he has one-punch KO power, he is the greatest heavyweight of all time but I will prove all of the haters wrong, that's what I've always done. I'm not scared of s***, I was born for this moment, the universe told me this was going to happen. I'm going to put on the performance of a lifetime ."
