Jeopardy player reflects on ‘moment he made it’ as he was featured beside Kardashians

Jeopardy! contestant Andrew He shared the "moment he knew he made it" as he recalled the time he discovered he was featured in the same "celebrity parenting" category as the Kardashians .

During the 2024 Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament , the software engineer shared the starstruck moment when he saw that People magazine had written an article about him. During his opening interview, the San Fransisco native shared the story of when the news outlet covered the news that he had welcomed a baby boy midway through the Jeopardy Masters Tournament.

In a re-run of the old episode that aired on August 19, host Ken Jennings brought up the moment as he said to He: "Your son was born during Jeopardy Masters, right?" To which he replied: "Yep. One of the best parts about being a temporary Jeopardy master is that I got to spend some time talking about my son on PrimeTime TV. Apparently this was newsworthy enough that People.com wrote an article about it."

He continued: "The moment I felt like I actually made it was when I noticed that the article wasn't tagged as TV or entertainment but it was actually 'celebrity parenting.' So you had to scroll through me to get to the Kardashians." To which Ken Jennings jokingly replied: "So you turned down Celebrity Jeopardy to do this?"

The People article in question was published back in May of 2023 highlighting the contestant welcoming his newborn son the same week he was competing in the gameshow. And while he had a newborn to get back to at home, He continued to compete and dedicated his performance to family's latest addition.

During the episode, He shouted out the Jeopardy team and his family for giving him the chance to fulfill his life-long dream. During the game, he said: "I had the double blessing of going from being here on the stage to within 24 hours going with my partner and welcoming the arrival of our son," and added: " I just want to say to Sarah, I love you so much. This is for you and I wouldn't be anywhere near here if not for you. So I'm gonna have to bring something nice for you and everyone."
