Chris Rock was desperate to escape Burning Man as he feared what might happen after becoming stranded at the festival .

Last year's festival turned into a nightmare following severe weather conditions, disappointing festival-goers. Even celebrities were caught in the chaos, with Diplo sharing his and Chris' ordeal in an Instagram reel.

The torrential downpour at the Nevada desert site left attendees with a tough decision to make: stay put or wade through the muck for miles to reach civilization. Diplo revealed in a clip that he and the 58-year-old comedian opted to brave the mud and eventually hitched a ride on a fan's truck.

But it was Diplo's interview with CNN that really highlighted their fears. The DJ worried about disappointing his fans, while Chris feared for something much graver - his life.

Diplo explained: "For sure Chris is going to have a huge bit in his next special about Burning Man, because he was bizarrely scared of what was going to happen. He thought there was going to be cannibalism a day later and didn't know if people were going to run on our camp and steal our stuff."

Diplo also took to social media to write about their escape. He joked: "A fan offered Chris Rock and I a ride out of Burning Man in the back of a pick up.

"After 6 miles walking through the mud...all Chris could think about was a f------ cold brew." Chris has yet to comment on the ordeal, but he's no stranger to controversy.

He was embroiled in a scandal during the 2022 Oscars when he made an ill-judged joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's bald head, unaware of her alopecia condition. Her husband Will Smith responded to the joke by hitting Chris on live television. As a result of the incident, Will was banned from the Academy Awards and any related events for 10 years.
