Jennifer Garner has been supporting her ex-husband Ben Affleck amid his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
The 52-year-old actress has been Ben's rock during his divorce and is even believed to have given him relationship advice to try and save his marriage to J.Lo. A source said Jennifer "wants nothing more" than for her ex Ben to be happy.
As for the Gone Girl actor, he has previously admitted that his split from Jennifer is the "biggest regret" of his life. The pair were married from 2005 until 2018 and share three children - Violet Anne, 18, Seraphina Rose, 15, and Samuel, 12.
Ben and Jennifer announced their intention to divorce in 2015, before finalizing it three years later. Speaking about the decision, Ben said: "The biggest regret of my life is this divorce."
Speaking to The New York Times , he explained how his drinking led to marital problems. He added: "Shame is really toxic. There is no positive byproduct of shame.
"It's just stewing in a toxic, hideous feeling of low self-worth and self-loathing." Nevertheless, Jennifer has stood by Ben amid his divorce from J.Lo, even trying to encourage them to work on their issues.
"She fully supports their relationship and wants nothing more than for him to be happy," a source told Us Weekly in May. They explained how she knows all too well that fame "can put a strain" on relationships.
Jennifer was seen just days before Ben and J.Lo's divorce was announced. The 13 Going on 30 star seemed relaxed as she made her way to her car wearing a gray T-shirt and dark blue leggings.
Jennifer pulled her hair up into a high ponytail and wore a dark pair of sunglasses. She completed her look with a pair of pink sneakers and wore a smartwatch as she went about her day.
J.Lo filed for divorce from Ben on Tuesday as she submitted paperwork to the Los Angeles Superior Court. The Jenny from the Block hitmaker cited the official date of their separation as April 26, 2024.
J.Lo filed for divorce from Ben before the pair celebrated their second wedding anniversary. The two tied the knot on July 26, 2022, but celebrated their wedding in Riceboro, Georgia, on August 20, 2022.
The former couple didn't have a prenuptial agreement in place. This means their individual earnings from the last two years, whether it be from film projects or major brand deals, is community property.
Lo has waved spousal support, according to TMZ . She is also asking the judge to deny Ben spousal support. The singer filed for divorce pro per, which means she did so by herself and without an attorney.
