Jeopardy! fans go wild as James Holzhauer bumps into fellow gameshow record breaker

Jeopardy! fans went wild this week as former contestant James Holzhauer took to social media after randomly bumping into gameshow legend Andrew He while out and about.

This week James, the self-described Jeopardy final boss , ran into one of his fellow gameshow champions while grabbing a bite to eat at Japanese "fast-steak" restaurant Pepper Lunch. The former game show contestant was seen beaming ear-to-ear as he smiled for a snap alongside the former Jeopardy Masters Tournament winner.

Under the snap posted on X, formerly Twitter, James wrote: "HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING" referring to the time he also just so happened to run into another famous Jeopardy player Mattea Roach, who had an incredible 23-game winning streak on the gameshow and has been described as the most successful Canadian to ever play Jeopardy.

Under the snap of James and Andrew, which was met with over a thousand likes, Jeopardy! fans shared their excitement over the unexpected run-in. One fan replied: " Cool Jeopardy champ with other cool Jeopardy champs!" And another wrote: "Wanna chill with you bad boys." And another said: "Andrew!!! One of my favorites." While someone else shared their love for James and penned: "Love Jeopardy James! I actually stopped watching after you left. I found you so entertaining and then it got so boring to me once you left."

Both James and Andrew have become some of the most well-known Jeopardy! players after they both broke numerous records during their apperaance on the trivia gameshow. James, who shared the snap, is a celebrity himself as he is known as the third-highest-earning American game show contestant of all time and broke the record for highest single-game winnings on the show with a staggering $131,127 total.

As for Andrew, he is also considered one of the best players in the game. During his first appearance on the show, Andrew won the largest amount ever in his first game breaking Myron Meyer's record of $50,000 with a total of $52,001. He is also the only player to ever have wagered the maximum and responded correctly to all three Daily Doubles in one game. Andrew and James have a lot in common as they share a nearly identical strategy in which they both start on the bottom row in each round and wager everything on the first Daily Double if they found it.
