Country star Garth Brooks sweetly crashed his wife Trisha Yearwood 's interview to gush over how proud he was as she was awarded the 2024 ACM Honors Icon Award .

After years of being an icon in many fans' eyes, Trisha was finally awarded the honor of being a country music "icon" with a shiny trophy. This award is presented to a country music artist who throughout their career has "advanced the popularity of the genre" through a number of facets.

Trisha being honored with this award comes as she has been a staple of the genre for many years and emerged as one of the top voices in country music in the '90s.

Garth, who is a famous country legend himself, proudly spoke about his wife's incredible accomplishment as he told Entertainment Tonight : "Very proud. It's pretty cool. What I love about it is with her name on the list now it makes the icon award even cooler for the past winners because this is nothing but talent and sincerity here and it's sweet."

Trisha added: "It's one of those things I was telling Garth in the car. He said 'Are you okay?' And I said 'Yeah. I'm used to being your plus one at this kind of thing and it's a little nerve-wracking and he goes 'Yeah it actually feels pretty good to be over here in the other seat."

As Trisha was presented with the well-deserved honor, fans took to X, formerly Twitter, thrilled over seeing the country singer be recognized in such a big way.
