Paris Olympics medalist Stephen Nedoroscik to join Dancing with the Stars

Stephen Nedoroscik from the USA's men's gymnastics team will be joining Dancing with the Stars .

The two-time bronze medalist from the 2024 Paris Olympics will be competing on season 33 of the dance show. Good Morning America made the announcement on Thursday, August 22. Stephen will be the first male gymnast to compete for the Mirrorball Trophy. Stephen, better known as the Pommel Horse Guy, told Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Gio Benitez that he hopes to bring his gymnastics moves to the dance floor.

He said: "I'm hoping to bring some of them. I want to do some flares, I want to bring some of that gymnastics, maybe a back flips or a hand stand. I want to have fun with it."

George then asked the Pommel Horse Guy about a meme going around of the gymnast, that he was caught "falling asleep" before his big competition. Stephen made it clear that he was trying to stay calm since it was almost his turn and someone's heart rate could "go crazy." It it something he probably will bring to Dancing with the Stars because it is something he does to calm himself down.

The male gymnast is not only known for his skills but also his glasses. During his time competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, people would refer to him as Clark Kent. Gio asked Stephen if he was planning to compete with his glasses.

Stephen said: "I might have fun with it. I'm scare they'll fly off is the thing but maybe we can make a gadget to help keep them on. Maybe a new pair of glasses to match the theme."

Stephen admitted that he said "yes" right when the producers called to get him on the show. Fans of the show also seem to be happy with the news as they expressed their excitement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The rest of the cast will be revealed on September 4.
