Ben Affleck had promised Jennifer Lopez he was "not going anywhere" as he had a special message engraved on her engagement ring .

The 52-year-old actor had the three words engraved on the $5.6million ring before he proposed to J.Lo for a second time in April 2022. The pair had previously been engaged in 2002 , but later split.

J.Lo revealed Ben had the message engraved on her platinum ring and explained it was how Ben "would sign his emails when we started talking again". Speaking on The Zane Lowe Show, she added: "Like 'Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere'."

Ben's "not going anywhere" message has now taken on an awkward spin after J.Lo filed for divorce from the Gone Girl star on Tuesday. The singer submitted the paperwork to the Los Angeles Superior Court and revealed their official split date was April 26, 2024.

J.Lo filed for divorce from Ben before the pair celebrated their second wedding anniversary. The two tied the knot on July 26, 2022, but celebrated their wedding in Riceboro, Georgia, on August 20, 2022.

The former couple didn't have a prenuptial agreement in place and J.Lo has waved spousal support, according to TMZ . She is also asking the judge to deny Ben spousal support.

The divorce filing comes following claims the pair had been facing marriage issues since their honeymoon in Italy. A source claimed: "When they weren’t in front of the cameras they would barely speak to each other during what was supposed to be the happiest time of their life."

Speaking to Page Six , they added: "He sold her on him being a changed man, and that lasted a very short time." The source suggested Ben wanted more privacy and was struggling to cope with his new wife's huge celebrity status.

They added: "He doesn’t want [the entourage] and all the drama that comes with that in his home." J.Lo's close friends are said to be "fed up with her antics" after her string of failed relationships.

A source told the Daily Mail : "After four failed marriages, her friends feel that she should take a look inside and focus on herself instead of what others want her to be." They added J.Lo's pals hope this would help her to "figure out who she is and what she wants from her future".
