Cristiano Ronaldo has added another milestone to his already illustrious career though this accomplishment is more focused on his exploits off the pitch .

On Wednesday, Ronaldo broke the record for the fastest time in reaching one million YouTube subscribers , doing so within an hour and a half of launching his channel. His channel, "UR Cristiano," has 19 combined videos and shorts of his life behind the scenes, each with more than 950,000 views.

"The wait is over," his Instagram post began. "My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on the new journey." As of writing, the channel has over 21 million subscribers and continues to grow due to his massive influence on social media.

On Instagram alone, the Portuguese soccer legend has 636 million followers, 170 million followers on Facebook and another 112.6 million on X (formerly Twitter). As a result of his incredible accomplishment, YouTube sent the 39-year-old a gift: A torso-sized YouTube gold play button.

The plaque is given to content creators who reach one million subscribers, regardless of how long it took them, and Ronaldo made sure to let his family share in the experience together. "A present for my family," he posted on Instagram with a heart after breaking the record. "Thank you to all the SIUUUbscribers!"

For context, YouTube doles out three plaques to content creators when they reach certain subscriber count milestones. When a content creator amasses 100,000 subscribers, they will be sent a "Silver Creator Award," which is a plaque similar to the gold award Ronaldo received.

After a creator surpasses the one million mark, they will be given a golden plaque, as evidenced by Ronaldo's gift. Lastly, once the same content creator reaches 10 million subscribers, they will be gifted a "Diamond Created Award," with the YouTube "play" button seemingly made entirely of diamond.

Considering Ronaldo already has over 20 million subscribers, it will only be a matter of time before he is given the "Diamond Creator Award."

Additionally, Ronaldo already surpassed FIFA's own YouTube channel - Ronaldo has 21.6 million subscribers and counting while FIFA currently has 21.5 million. The soccer legend has a ways to go to become the most subscribed content creator on the platform however as Jimmy Donaldson, also known as "MrBeast," currently holds the top spot with over 300 million subscribers.

It has been an interesting summer for the 39-year-old Ronaldo. Shortly after the Euro 2024 defeat to France in the quarterfinals, the Portuguese star remained mum on his plans for playing internationally, considering his advanced age.

Regardless of how long he plans to play, it's clear his influence remains , not just in soccer but in other sports as well. During the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, it was very apparent Ronaldo's impact had extended beyond the pitch, as evidenced by Ecuador's Brian Pintado.

After winning the men's 20km race walk, finishing with a time of 1:18:55, Pintado looked back at the sizeable gap between him and second place and immediately broke out the "SIUU," Ronaldo's signature goal celebration .
