Popstar Lily Allen returns rescue dog to shelter after he ate her passport and 'ruined' her life

Pop star Lily Allen has shockingly confessed that she returned her rescue dog after the mischievous mutt munched on her passport and "ruined" her life .

The 39-year-old singer, who lives in New York with Stranger Things star hubby David Harbour and her two daughters from her previous marriage to Sam Cooper, shared that she adopted a furry friend from an animal sanctuary. However, Lily said things took a turn for the worse when the canine culprit chomped through her travel documents.

Speaking on her Miss Me? podcast, Lily spilled the beans: "We actually did adopt a dog already, but then it ate my passport and so I took her back to the home. She ate all three of our passports and they had our visas in."

The Smile hitmaker, who's recently joined OnlyFans, revealed the hefty price tag of replacing everything amid the pandemic: "And I cannot tell you how much money it cost me to get everything replaced, because it was in COVID and so it was just an absolute logistical nightmare," she said.

The debacle left Lily unable to take her kids to see their father in England for months. She explained: "And because the father of my children lives in England, I couldn't take them back to see their dad for like four months, five months, because this f-----g dog had eaten the passports."

Allen admitted she reached her breaking point with the pet: "And I just couldn't look at her. I was like 'You've ruined my life'." But it wasn't just the passports; the pop star lamented the dog's other naughty antics: "Passports weren't the only thing she ate, she was a very badly-behaved dog."

Despite her efforts, Lily concluded that it simply wasn't meant to be: "I really tried very hard with her, but it just didn't work out and the passports were the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak," she reasoned.

Lily didn't provide further details about the animal, but it's believed she was referring to a dog named Mary, who she adopted in 2021. The British singer also revealed her plans to adopt another dog in the future - a Chihuahua mix - and expressed her desire to name it after England footballer Jude Bellingham.
