'Pampered’ Blake Lively slammed for interview claiming pregnant women ‘lie’ about symptoms

Blake Lively can’t seem to escape criticism as of late.

The It Ends With Us star finds herself in the center of more backlash amid her rumored feud with her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni rages on. In another resurfaced interview from a decade ago, the Gossip Girl alum seems to have once again stuck her foot in her mouth.

Blake joked in a 2014 interview with Extra correspondent AJ Calloway that pregnant women “lie” about symptoms and cravings.

At the beginning of the interview, AJ spotlighted the blonde beauty’s baby bump before he asked: “How’s it going? My wife is seven months right now, so I know what it’s all like, the feet rubbing.” Blake was pregnant with her first child James, who’s now nine, at the time of her interview with AJ.

Poking fun at AJ's wife’s pregnancy symptoms she told him that it sounded like she was “taking advantage” of the reporter. Since the clip has resurfaced on TikTok, Blake has been getting dragged being judgemental about pregnancy symptoms when her privileged lifestyle probably helped her escape them.

“I was on my feet working until I had my son. Yes they hurt, yes my husband rubbed them for me. I’m guessing she lives a pampered life whether pregnant or not so her feet probably aren’t sore,” a critic commented.

Another noted, “She does not speak for this ex pregnant woman and my swollen feet. Also some of us work on our feet 40+ hrs and don’t have the luxury of rest throughout an entire pregnancy.”

Someone else stuck up for Blake, writing, “I feel like she has a level of sarcasm and dry humor people don’t get. You can exploit [pregnancy], if you want. You can’t fall for that stuff,” Lively told Calloway while playfully swatting his arm.”

Later in the interview Blake, who now is also the mother of daughters Inez, and Betty, and son Olin, claimed that “pregnant women just lie” so they can make themselves feel better about eating decadent foods.

“It’s the perfect way to get what you want. You want chocolate ice cream at midnight? You have a ‘craving,” she said. More than not attributed her candid assessment to coming from a “pampered” place. Before this clip made a resurgence, another telling one from almost ten years ago popped up.

Reporter Kjersti Flaa recently reshared her interview with Blake from 2016, confessing that the chaotic sit-down almost made her give up journalism.
