Ben Affleck appeared tense and agitated during a father-son outing with his son Samuel, who he shares with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, after his split from Jennifer Lopez.
The Gone Girl star was seen getting ice-cream with Samuel at Sweet Rose Creamery in Brentwood, California, on Saturday. The 52-year-old movie star grimaced as he walked on the sidewalk, sporting a dark gray button-down shirt, khaki pants, and sneakers.
Ben seemed to be lost in his own thoughts, which was expressed through some of the moments captured of him where he had a downcast look and sad facial expression.
It comes after Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben on Tuesday. According to TMZ, JLo filed pro per , which means she did so without an attorney. It was listed that Jen and Ben had been separated since April 26.

To make matters worse, the follow-up abovementioned documentary garnered so much backlash that it put a strain on their marriage, which was compounded by their inherently different lifestyles. Simply put, J.Lo loves to be in the limelight, and Ben prefers to be private. Ben decided to allow Jennifer to file out of “compassion” so she could save face in the public eye.
“Ben knew Jennifer was going to file for divorce. It was not a shocker to him at all. In fact, he let her have this,” his friend told the Daily Mail. “Jennifer was more concerned about how [the split] will affect her career, what fans will think and what the press will write.”
Additionally, the friend added: “The couple initially discussed joint filing. But seeing all the backlash and hate Jennifer was already getting from the documentary, movie, album, and tour, Ben took the high road and let her file for divorce so it didn't look like it was her fault that things hadn't worked out. It was his last act of compassion he has for her.”
Their divorce doesn’t come as a shock given that they have been rumored to be having marital issues for the last few months. This is the second time that Jennifer and Ben didn’t make it. They initially dated and were engaged in 2002, but then broke up for the first time in 2004.
