With all of the drama surrounding her new movie It Ends With Us , Blake Lively might take a "step back" from her career.

Shortly before the It Ends With Us released, rumors that the Gossip Girl alum was in an ongoing feud with her co-star Justin Baldoni sprang up, soon becoming more of interest than the film itself. Blake and Justin’s reported beef garnered much scrutiny and ushered in a deeper inspection of the actress. Blake began facing criticism for her seemingly cavalier attitude toward embracing the movie’s core message.

Several ranted online about Blake using the press surrounding the film to promote her hair care line and alcohol brand was insensitive since the movie’s theme heavily focused on domestic abuse.

Some even called Blake out for seemingly answering interview questions about the seriousness of the movie’s theme carelessly. Amid the controversy, an insider revealed to the Daily Mail that Blake is worried about how all of the condemnation she’s receiving will impact future opportunities.

The source revealed to the news outlet that she thought It Ends With Us was going to be "her moment to shine." However, she is now afraid that it may be the "end of her career." Additionally, the insider revealed: "Blake is definitely saddened by the hate she is getting and is trying not to let it affect her but it is."

Blake is also "fearful" that the hate she’s been getting will translate into being unemployable.

[Blake] thought this was her moment to shine but is now looking at it like the end of her career. She’s fearing no one will want to work with her after this," the insider explained. "She really wants to continue producing and directing and acting but she knows she needs to take a step back for a minute to reassess the future."

Speculation that there was tension between Blake and Justin started after fans noticed that they didn’t do any press together ahead of the movie’s premiere. Nor did they interact with each other on the It Ends With Us red carpet premiere in Los Angeles earlier this month.

Another source told the Daily Mail that the two butted heads because of Justin’s "dismissive" attitude toward her "input" when they filmed scenes that dealt with abuse.

"During scenes depicting abuse, Justin failed to consider Blake's character's perspective, instead focusing solely on what he believed was the abusive male viewpoint," they expressed. ""His approach was very chauvinistic, creating a tense atmosphere on set." Blake and Justin were both co-producers on It Ends With Us.

On top of that, the insider claimed that Justin was "borderline abusive" while on set, and admitted to "almost became the character."

The Mirror has reached out to Blake Lively's reps for comment.
