Rapper Scarface 'grateful' as he is hospitalized in ICU three years after kidney transplant

Legendary rapper Scarface was hospitalized in an intensive care unit in Texas .

The Geto Boys group member took to Instagram on Saturday, August 24, to show a snap of himself lying down in a hospital bed with tubes and wires attached to his body. Scarface didn’t say why he is in hospital but he admitted he is “grateful” to be there.

“Ouch… [three prayer hands emojis] Grateful,” he wrote.

It's believed Scarface is in ICU at Houston Methodist Hospital.

Fans and fellow hip-hop stars inundated the comment section of the Houston native’s post with supportive remarks. Few of the rap artists who commented under his post include Slim Thug, E-40, DJ Premier, Twista, Sleepy Brown, Mannie Fresh, KXNG Crooked, and DJ Quik.

Before the I Seen A Man Die rapper was admitted to hospital this weekend, he underwent a kidney transplant in 2021. Scarface’s son Chris Jordan donated a kidney to him for his transplant . Scarface later went on Instagram Live to shower his son with praise for “saving” his life.

“My son saved my life and I can’t say enough about him,” he said. “That boy saved my life man. And I love him so much. But I always said that shit though. He’s the best son a guy could have. Chris, you ain’t s- -t [laughs]. Don’t make me laugh, Chris. C’mon dawg.”

Scarface continued venting his gratitude toward Chris for donating his organ to him.

“I’m so proud of you [he said looking at Chris],” he added. “I love you too much. You saved my muthaf- -kin’ life. You low down muthaf---a. You’re selfish. Won’t let a n---a die. That n---a will not let me die [laughs]. I ain’t gonna tear up in here in front of all these people on Instagram Live.”

Not stopping there, the Southern rhymer got candid about what occurred after the transplant.

“The surgeon said I started pissing everywhere,” he revealed. “I must have been holding it because as soon as he plugged that kidney up, I was pissin’ like a muthaf---a. I didn’t even know I had that much piss.”

He joked: “I ain’t even farted yet.” Scarface’s original rap name was Akshen but he later changed it to Scarface after the release of the 1983 film of the same name.
