Jeopardy! fans noticed there was something wrong with an Alex Trebek cookie .

Ken Jennings became the permanent Jeopardy! host after taking over for the original host, Alex Trebek. Alex hosted the trivia show for nearly 37 seasons , setting a Guinness World Record for hosting the most episodes of a single game show. Patrick hosted more than 8,200 Jeopardy! episodes before his death in November 2020. The former host died due to stage four pancreatic cancer.

Many viewers at home miss seeing Alex on Jeopardy! but the show will always pay tribute. Over the weekend, the show posted a video of a cookie on Instagram with the Jeopardy! legend's face on it.

The caption read: "This #FanArtFriday has us hungry! A big thanks to @funnyfacebakery for their Alex Trebek cookie art. If you have fan art you want us to see, make sure to use #JeopardyFanArt! and we might feature you."

Fans quickly caught what was missing from the cookie, Alex's iconic mustache. One person under the comments wrote: "Now do one with the mustache." Another person wrote: "Where is the ‘stache?"

Just before this post, the show posted a carousel of photos of Alex from the show and it was highlighting his mustache. The caption read: "Alex Trebek's mustache era = UNDEFEATED #Jeopardy! #AlexTrebek."

Users quickly poked fun at his mustache but also reminisced on the moments Alex was on the show. One person wrote: "He looks like he *mustache* you a question." Another person wrote: "epic stache is epic." A third person wrote: "Long live the king of knowledge. We miss you, Alex Trebek. Forever in our hearts & always our inspiration." A fourth wrote: "I always found it weird when he got rid of the mustache."

Alex made his hosting debut on Jeopardy! with the mustache, which lasted for 17 years. In 2001 , he shocked viewers at hime by shaving the mustache off. According to Jeopardy fans on Reddit, Alex would let the mustache grow and shave it off for some time after that. The last time he was seen with facial hair was in September 19 2018. Before he died, he had a goatee in a short message in Summer 2020, and explained that whenever he had a break from the show, he wold grow out his hair.
