A 10-episode thriller named The Accident has been causing a buzz among Netflix viewers.

The show premiered in the streaming service on August 21. Set in the Mexican town of Santa Cruz, the plot revolves around a community reeling from a tragic birthday party. Daniela and Emiliano were throwing this bash for their son Rodrigo, inviting his friends and their families to their home for the festivities. However, when violent winds tear the bouncy castle from its safety ropes, three children are killed as it is swept into the sky.

As expected, each of the adults present starts pointing fingers, with some of the blame landing on Emiliano who was on a business call at the time. Questions are also raised about the couple's housekeeper Moncho. The series stars Ana Claudia Talancón, Eréndira Ibarra, Erick Elías, Sebastián Martínez, Alberto Guerra, Silverio Palacios and Shaní Lozano.

After binge-watching all of The Accident's gripping episodes, Netflix fans were eager to share their opinions on social media "I thought [I'd] outgrown telenovelas, but there's a show called The Accident on Netflix... and it reminded me how outrageous soap opera plots are," penned one viewer, who proceeded to dissect some of the drama's wild events.

"A bunch of kids literally got blown up into the air inside a balloon house. Literally flown away. Kids died, some missing. Grieving parents turned violent. Start to blame the worker who set up the bouncy castle. Decided to burn the housekeeper and gardener house with their children in it (lol what?). All because of a freak accident Final Destination style. It's 1 to 100 in just the first episode," they added.

Meanwhile, a second viewer labeled The Accident "must watch" TV before while rating it a moderate "1000/10".

"One of the best series this year is The Accident on Netflix. Freaking mad! " alongside "The Accident on Netflix is super triggering. I can't tell you how many parties we have been to with bounce houses but I'm pretty sure I will never look at one the same," were among the other reviews shared.

Shaken by the tragic narrative, another spectator described it as the "saddest show I've ever watched in my life". The Spanish-language drama is currently streaming on Netflix and was originally titled Accidente. The show created by Created by Leonardo Padrón has climbed up the Netflix charts by placing in second.
