The Bachelor's Nick Viall is facing fierce backlash online after making a string of "disrespectful" and potentially "harmful" comments towards Love Island USA star Kendall's sexuality.
During a recent episode of The Viall Files, the 43-year-old podcaster sat down for an interview with Love Island star Nicole as they hashed out her relationship troubles with Kendall after previously having him on the show as well. Nicole's appearance on the podcast comes after Nicole and Kendall shared an explosive tear-filled argument during the Love Island reunion special where Nicole accused Kendall of lying to her over the context of an explicit video of his that was leaked of him online.
But after the episode aired fans were left fuming as many felt Nick was making speculative comments towards the reality star's sexuality. Speaking on the conversation he previously shared with Kendall, Nick said: "I felt like I was talking to a guy who's truly not comfortable who he is. Whoever that person is - he just doesn't seem comfortable enough to show that to the world."
Nick then seemed to push the matter as he said: "Do you think that part of the reason Kendall is reluctant to even tell you the full truth because it seems like you know you haven't gotten it yet. Is because he's just afraid of what that means if he completely comes clean?" To which Nicole politely shut down and said: "I don't know. I'm not going to comment on it. I'm going to believe what he's been telling me, that he sent a video to a girl on Raya."

Wrapping up the interview, Nick seemed to make another pointed comment at Kendall as he said: "It seems like you have a lot to offer and I think most men speaking from straight men out there - you don't seem like a very reactive person. You seem really calm and that is a quality that I can assure you that men really desire and I think the right guy will know how to actually appreciate that type of quality rather than take advantage of it."
After the episode, dozens of Viall Files listeners urged Nick to give Kendall a public apology after the remarks he made throughout the interview with Nicole. Under the YouTube video, viewer commented: "Speculating about Kendall's sexuality, and then trying to prompt Nicole to speculate about it is so gross. You owe him a massive apology for not only capitalizing off his trauma, but also likely contributing to it. smh...Amanda would never."
Another agreed: "Nick come on dude you are literally speculating a person’s sexual identity in front of the world so weird and you also could’ve said what you’re saying to his face????" And a third added: "This podcast episode should be taken down. Shame on Nick and his wife for allowing Nicole to talk about Kendall's trauma. Kendall deserves a public apology from The Viall Files and Nicole!"
And someone else fumed: "Nick’s assumptions about Kendall’s sexuality were not only ignorant but also quite rude. He implied things several times that was just disrespectful and ignorant. It’s frustrating to hear such a narrow perspective, especially coming from a cis white man. Nick really needs to educate himself rather than perpetuate assumptions that can be harmful."
