Reason why Jennifer Lopez felt it was 'torture' to file for divorce from Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez found the breakdown of her marriage to Ben Affleck "incredibly difficult", according to a source.

The singer, 55, filed for divorce from Ben last week after just two years of marriage. In the paperwork, she listed their official date of separation as April 26, 2024.

While J.Lo was the one to take the plunge and end the marriage, a source has claimed it's something she never wanted to do . "It’s been incredibly difficult for her that Ben chose to pull away from their marriage and move on with his life, leaving her behind," they said.

They added: "She didn't want a divorce. She wanted to figure things out. They love each other. Jennifer is not the type to just give up. It's been almost torture for her to wait around."

Speaking to People Magazine , the source said J.Lo's feelings have changed since she filed for divorce and she now "seems relieved" after submitting the paperwork. Her family and friends are said to have rallied around and are surrounding the singer in "love and support".

With the divorce papers filed, Ben is said to have been hanging out with another woman. The Gone Girl star, 52, has been spotted hanging out with Robert F Kennedy Jr's daughter Kathleen 'Kick' Kennedy.

The pair were spotted at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel after J.Lo filed for divorce from her husband. A source has insisted Ben and J.Lo were separated before he started hanging out with Kick.

"He made this very clear with her. JLo listing their separation as April only confirmed this," the source told the Daily Mail . They added: "They are both taking it day by day but so far, she is enjoying spending time with him.

"They hang out at Beverly Hills Hotel because it offers a level of privacy to celebs that nowhere else does." The source also insisted Kick and Ben are just getting to know each other, adding there is "nothing there yet".

It seems like J.Lo and Ben won't have much to figure out with their divorce as they didn't have a prenuptial agreement in place and J.Lo has waved spousal support, according to TMZ . She is also asking the judge to deny Ben spousal support.
