Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings' true feelings about axe rumors finally revealed

It seems Ken Jennings isn't going anywhere despite rumors he could be axed from Jeopardy!.

The 50-year-old TV presenter has been hosting the popular game show for three years , but there have been reports that he is "at risk of being replaced". The speculation comes after he wasn't chosen to host the new Jeopardy! spin-off Pop Culture Jeopardy! , with Colin Jost taking on the challenge instead.

A source had claimed Sony producers don't have "100% confidence" in Ken and are "keeping their options open" over who should be the Jeopardy! host. However, another source has now said Ken is remaining defiant amid the axe rumors.

"Ken's well aware of the noise and tittle-tattle. Privately he would acknowledge these are tough times — especially with Colin Jost coming on to host Pop Culture Jeopardy! and fans calling him awkward, which is hard to take," the source explained.

Speaking to Closer Magazine, the source added: "He's desperate to make it work and has no intention of leaving of his own accord." The comments come after Jeopardy! fans have been left angry over the pace of the show.

The source said Ken is unwilling to take full blame for the anger and pointed out how he isn't the one who writes the questions or picks the contestants. They said he "won't be made a scapegoat".

Ken is also believed to be urging bosses to support him. The source concluded: "Ken doesn’t understand why viewers think this is all his fault, because it’s not. He believes others need to take responsibility."

A source had previously told The US Sun Sony was keeping Ken on as the host of Jeopardy! while also "keeping their options open". They suggested producers don't have "100% confidence" in Ken as he would have otherwise been chosen to host the primetime and celebrity editions of Jeopardy!.

The source continued: "But Ken is still finding his groove on the syndicated version of the show and Sony is letting him become the de facto face of the franchise - for now."

They suggested the only reason Ken would be replaced as Jeopardy! host is if ratings took a nosedive. Luckily for Ken, that hasn't happened yet, with the source saying the show is "holding steady."
