Melissa McCarthy flaunted her weight loss while celebrating her birthday .
The actress and comedian was out-and-about in Brentwood, California celebrating her 54th birthday on Monday, August 26. Melissa was accompanied by her husband Ben Falcone and the two posed after their celebration. Melissa was holding Ben's arm and looked at the camera, while Ben could not keep his eyes off his wife.
The actress was wearing an all white button up shirt with baggy style pants and pink clogs on her feet. She paired the look with small hoop gold earrings, necklace and rings. Her husband was wearing a blue button up with different colors and types of birds on it and teal pants with black and white sneakers.
Melissa has been showing off her weight loss in her recent outings. In June, she arrived on the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live ! in Los Angeles, California wearing a form-fitting black flower dress while carrying a squared white handbag inspired by a pizza box. The midi dress was ruched at the chest and sleeves. She paired the ensemble with matching pointed leather heels and wore her hair in loose waves. She waved to fans who were waiting outside of the set.
The actress reportedly lost 75 pounds and had been open about her struggle with her weight. She has also opened up about the road to acceptance and not constantly "worrying" about her weight. In 2003, she reportedly lost 70 pounds after deciding to follow an all-liquid diet for her role in Gilmore Girls.
She told PEOPLE : "I'd never do that again. I felt starved and crazy half the time." She added: "Somewhere in my 30s, I was like 'I'm okay with who I am'. And if someone wasn't thrilled with that, that's okay too. At some point I was like, 'They're not all going to like you.' You have to learn that the hard way, but it's a good [lesson]."
Barbra Streisand even commented on Melissa's weight loss journey that caused major controversy after claiming the comedian was doing Ozempic. Ozempic is a type 2 diabetes medication that contains semaglutide and has started being used in the battle against obesity.
