Jeopardy! fans raised concerns for former contestant Alex Jacob as they thought he appeared "sad" and "discouraged" during a recent re-run of his game .

On August 26, a re-run from the 2024 Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament aired featuring contestants Alex Jacob, Jennifer Quail, and Brandon Blackwell. During the episode, Alex had a rollercoaster of a game as he started off the night in the lead in first with a total of $6,600 in the first round. But during the final round, Alex bet and lost it all as he wagered his entire earnings of $14,200 and was beat out by his fellow player Jennifer who correctly answered the trivia question.

And while Alex has become a familiar face on the gameshow, some fans raised concerns over the fan favorite player's downcast appearance during the re-run game . After the episode aired, one viewer took to Reddit and wrote: "He seemed sad or discouraged during tonight's game/replay?? Anyone think so?"

Under the post, a number of fans weighed in on the take and sharing their own thoughts on his serious demeanor throughout the episode. One supporter wrote: " I’m in his School of Trivia league and he’s really gotten behind with sending out/scoring quizzes the past few months. I hope everything is alright with him, seems like such a cool guy."

Others thought that his attitude seemed in line with his previous games and believed that it could just be nerves. One fan theorized: "I think that’s just his serious demeanor. tournaments are real s--t, they take a toll on everyone, esp when you’ve been out of the game for years and are suddenly plopped back in at high stakes. I played School of Trivia for a bit last year before I finally got invited to LearnedLeague, I talked to him on and off and he clearly loves running it."

Someone else agreed: "I think that's just his look or demeanor. He has a serious, intense, no frills way about it. But he definitely seemed upset at the end about missing that Final." And another chimed in: "It was kind of an intense week, rough game and a weird ending. If I do say so myself. Play-wise Alex was great. He's so fast his podium's lights are distracting when they're in the corner of your vision."
