Angelina Jolie has landed in Italy for the upcoming Venice Film Festival . The actress' biographical drama Maria about opera singer Maria Calla is premiering at the annual film event on Thursday, August 29.

Angelina was photographed on Tuesday, August 27, touching down in Venice wearing a beige belted trench coat over navy trousers and black boots. She completed the look with black shades as her blonde hair was down. In other shots, the 49-year-old was waving to the camera.

Ex-husband Brad Pitt, 60, is also set to be at Venice Film Festival two days after Angelina's appearance. His action-comedy with co-star and friend George Clooney is premiering on Sunday, Sunday 1.

Many are wondering if the exes will run into each other, amidst their ongoing tumultuous divorce. Venice Film Festival Artistic Director Alberto Barbera answered that question in a conversation with Vanity Fair on August 15. He stated that the two actors appearances will "of course" be spaced apart.
