Jeopardy! fans make desperate plea as the future of the show is thrown into turmoil

Jeopardy! viewers have pleaded with producers to bring the show back early as they insisted they can't wait any longer .

The hit game show is currently on hiatus and won't return with a new season until September 9. For now, Jeopardy! has been airing old episodes, but fans are growing bored with the re-runs.

Their frustration comes after Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings has had to face down rumors he could be axed from the show. Taking to Reddit to air their frustrations, one fan commented: "I miss Jeopardy! Why can’t Jeopardy! be back already?"

Another joked: "What is September 9th?" Looking at the brighter side, a third fan said: "I miss it too. Just 12 more days!" while someone else warned: "My relationship is in peril because we don’t come together to watch jeopardy each evening."

A fifth fan admitted they're nervous about the new season. They explained: "I hope they don’t kick off with six months’ of tournaments like last season. It became tedious to watch the same dozen people playing over and over and over again…"

As impatience grows, so too do rumors that not everything is good behind the scenes. Host Ken has been hit with reports that he is "at risk of being replaced".

The speculation started when he wasn't chosen to host the new Jeopardy! spin-off Pop Culture Jeopardy!, with Colin Jost taking on the challenge instead. A source had claimed Sony producers don't have "100% confidence" in Ken and are "keeping their options open" over who should be the Jeopardy! host.

Luckily, Ken seems to be remaining defiant amid the drama. "Ken's well aware of the noise and tittle-tattle. Privately he would acknowledge these are tough times — especially with Colin Jost coming on to host Pop Culture Jeopardy! and fans calling him awkward, which is hard to take," the source explained.

Speaking to Closer Magazine, the source added: "He's desperate to make it work and has no intention of leaving of his own accord." Ken is also believed to be urging bosses to support him.

The source concluded: "Ken doesn’t understand why viewers think this is all his fault, because it’s not. He believes others need to take responsibility."
