Therapuss host Jake Shane shares heartbreaking story about how latest guest relates to grandparents' death

Jake Shane thanked the Jersey Shore for getting him through one of the hardest moments in his life .

The Therapuss host teased the latest episode with a post on Instagram teasing his guest, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi . He posted a carousel of pictures of him and Snooki sitting at the iconic Jersey bar on the boardwalk, both with a drink in hand, a picture of Jake meeting Nicoke when he was young and him wearing the picture on his shirt and recreating it.

In the caption, Jake shared the heartbreaking story of his grandparents' passing and how he was introduced to the Jersey Shore around that time.

He wrote: "When I was in third grade, both of my grandparents died in the same summer. While I was too young to know what grief was, I remember cleaning out their apartment and I remember how sad it was. My parents sent me into a room to watch TV, and, of course, being unsupervised, I put on MTV. I was met with the Jersey Shore reunion and, more importantly, I was introduced to Snooki."

He continued: "I’ll never forget the smile she brought to me during a hard time and all the smiles she continued to bring to me just by being herself. It was inspiring, endearing, and, most of all, hilarious. Growing up unsure of who I was, watching Snooki showed me that being authentically you pays off and leads you exactly where you’re supposed to be."

Jake was glad to be able to interview Nicole and call someone who helped him through his grandparents' death, a friend. The interview was released on Thursday, August 29. Before interviewing Nicole in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, he expressed his love for her and recalled the day he first watched her on the Jersey Shore. He called her "incredible, hysterical and authentically herself."

Some of Jake's followers also shared the moment they watched Jersey Shore for the first time and expressed how excited they were to see the two interact on camera for the latest Therapuss episode. Nicole commented under the post, writing: "Ummmmmm I’m crying??? We are best squirrel friends now."
