The 36-year-old at the time in her first interview since Stephen's passing talked to PEOPLE expressing that shock: "No one had any inkling that he was low. He didn't want people to know. He just wanted to be everyone's Superman and protector ."

As she navigated her grief, she had talked to the outlet in a separate interview in June that she would "embrace" dating again. While talking about embracing her growth in things such as dating, she noted that she was a person who always utters the quote 'Romanticize your life.' and still believes in "living a big life" which is something she still wants.

"I still would want to have love, would still want to travel the world. I still want to see and experience new things with new people, new energy, my friends, my family, a loved one — a potential — and my kids," Allison said. "I want them to see that they can still learn to trust and love again. It doesn't have to go away,"

Allison and Stephen first met in 2010 when they both appeared on the Fox's competition dance show So You Think You Can Dance as All-Stars. They wed three years later and and were married for nine years before her late husband's death. The couple share three children: daughters Weslie, 16, and Zaia, 4, and son Maddox, 8. Weslie is Allison's daughter from a previous relationship and was later adopted by Stephen after him and Allison married.
