Hollywood Squares' executive producer Vincent Rubino was fired from the upcoming series after he allegedly made offensive remarks toward BIPOC production staff, according to a source .

Vincent is a seasoned producer who has a list of other game shows he’s produced under his belt such as the $100,000 Pyramid, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire . While his experience landed him the Hollywood Squares revival gig, his bigoted comment toward his colleagues are allegedly what got him booted from it. A source reports that the showrunner is being accused of putting his arms up and saying “don’t rob me” to three people of color.

The three people were production assistants and are “believed to be Black and Hispanic/Latino,” according to Deadline.

It was another person who allegedly overheard the comment and then reported it to HR. Jesse Collins Entertainment and Drew Barrymore’s Flower Films, both companies co-producing the Hollywood Squares reboot, took immediate action as they cut Vincent from the show, according to sources.

Earlier this summer it was announced that the hit 1960s show was making a comeback in 2025. With the reboot being CBS, the network’s Good Mornings host Nate Burleson has been tapped to host the Hollywood Squares revival. Drew will also be a part of the show as she’ll be placed in the famed center square.

In each game, two contestants will go head-to-head in a game of tic-tac-toe to win money, and prizes. Contestants get to ask the celebrities questions as well as judge their answers during the game, according to the show's official synopsis.

On X, the official CBS Network PR page divulged more details about Hollywood Squares on Tuesday. "EMMY® AWARD Winner @nateburleson to host @CBS HOLLYWOOD SQUARES. The celebrity-stacked game show, starring @DrewBarrymore as the famed center square, will air Wednesdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) starting in January," the account tweeted.

Although some fans are excited for the return of the series, even more are stoked that Nate will be hosting another show. "Congratulations @nateburleson ! You'l be the perfect host - always ready with your quick thinking quips to move the show forward," one X user wrote. "The man can’t be stopped! Hard work pays off! Well done @nateburleson!," another added on X. Someone else mentioned, "So awesome @nateburleson!"
