Greg Norman, the CEO of LIV Golf , took to Instagram to mark his three-year anniversary at the helm of the controversial golf league.

In a celebratory post, he touted the progress and resilience of the league, stating, "Today I celebrate three incredible years as CEO and Commissioner of our LIV Golf League. We have come so far in such a short time period, managing all sorts of hostile headwinds, hurdles and untruths that I marvel at what we have accomplished to date: - Players are now earning more money Today than ever before."

The Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, financiers of LIV, are currently locked in negotiations with the PGA Tour over a merger, but Norman pointedly noted in his statement: "LIV Golf belongs and LIV Golf is here to stay!"

Under Norman's leadership, LIV Golf has reportedly upped the ante for player earnings, hinting at even richer prize pots and contracts ahead. The league, backed by Saudi wealth, famously offered Jon Rahm a staggering $390 million deal, with the Masters champion allegedly pocketing $300 million of it upfront.

Norman also emphasized LIV Golf's commitment to player welfare, claiming an unprecedented focus on their health, dubbing it "the best ever in golf history." As of August 7, LIV Golf's official policy ensures that any golfer participating in their events will receive medical support from a qualified doctor.

The expansion strategy outlined by LIV's Greg Norman, includes tapping into new markets with the support of his higher-ups. LIV widened its Asian footprint with a Hong Kong event from March 8-10 and kicked off this season in Mexico at El Camalen Golf Course in Mayakoba.

Expressing gratitude to his employer at LIV, Norman acknowledged the support he received to explore uncharted territories and fulfill his vision for golf. "Finally to my boss, I want to thank him for his vision, his genius in identifying virgin space, his patience, his support, and for knowing the franchise model works," he said.

Norman emphasized on how, despite facing criticism for potentially being a part of Saudi Arabia's sports washing agenda, the league has progressed and is here to stay. "Today, we are underway, and in just 34 events, our Teams continue to grow, proving there is room for competition in our sport. LIV Golf belongs, and LIV Golf is here to stay."

Nielsen reported that LIV Golf's inaugural Mayakoba event finale attracted 432,000 viewers - a record for the series. However, it fell short of the PGA's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am aired at the same time, which drew 1.951 million viewers, suggesting LIV still has significant ground to cover in order to rival the established PGA viewership.
