Jesse Tyler Ferguson looks like a brand new person without his signature ginger beard.

The actor took to Instagram on August 30, and posted his newly shaven face in a black and white photo. In the photo, Jesse looked straight at the camera wearing round thick framed glasses with a collared sweater shirt and a small smile gracing his face. He captioned the up-close selfie of his beardless face: "Deal with it."

Fans clamored over Jesse's lack of facial hair on the comments sections. Many couldn't believe he got rid of his beard, others remarked on him looking more youthful now and some posted Modern Family memes.

One fan said: "no I won’t deal with it." A second fan asked: "Who r u??" Another said: "Im so tired I thought this was Jamie Lee Curtis for a sec." A fourth fan said: You look 10 years younger… and like a novelist named Simon." A fifth fan wrote: "I like it because you look very young but I'm still getting used to it."

Jesse and his notable red facial hair were prominent in Modern Family. The 48-year-old portrayed gay lawyer Mitchell Pritchett on the ABC comedy for eleven seasons. The show first premiered in 2009 and ended in 2020. His role as Mitchell earned him five Primetime Emmy Awards nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series nominations.

Jesse's character was well-loved, along with the rest of the cast, especially in his relationship with partner-turned-husband Cameron Tucker (Eric Stonestreet) and their adopted daughter Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons).

In June 2022, the father-of-two shared to Entertainment Tonight there was a script written for a planned spin-off that was Mitch and Cam-centered but the network scrapped it. He talked about also seeing the script and called it "very good."

"The script's out there and it's very good. So, you know, who knows? If someone wants to produce it, maybe," he said.

The sitcom also starred Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Ed O'Neil, Sofia Vegara, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez and Jeremy Maguire. In May of this year, Jesse posted Instagram photo of him on the set of the sitcom which sparked hopeful reboot rumors

It turned out it was not a reboot but WhatsApp commercial that reunited him with his fellow co-stars Julie, Ty and Eric.
