'My family is feuding over stolen baby name after a devastating miscarriage - but they're overreacting'

It can be seriously hard to choose the right baby name - especially when your family don't agree with the name .

One woman has shared how her whole family is "feuding" over a stolen baby name and slammed them for overreacting over the fallout.

She explained how she has two brothers Steve and Daniel, and Steve's wife Rosie fell pregnant but sadly miscarried. Steve and Rosie had announced the name they had planned on calling their baby, but are now horrified to find out Daniel and Meagen have chosen the same name for their unborn baby.

Meagan announced the name at her baby shower, which left Rosie fuming. The fallout between the two couples has become so bad Steve and Rosie refuse to attend family events and are even planning on moving away.

The woman took to Reddit to share the ordeal and said: "Steve said Rosie was sad and he got angry. He told Daniel it is insensitive for them to use that name. Daniel (rightly) defended Meagen and said she liked the name after hearing it from Rosie and wants to use it because of how unique it is."

She said Steve thinks it was insensitive of Daniel and Meagan to announce the name at the baby shower and declare how much they love the name ever since they heard it - from Rosie when talking about her miscarriage and added: "He (Steve) refuses to even hear that Rosie (and himself) are overreacting and that no one owns a baby name.

Steve and Rosie also said they are permanently moving 3700km away as they would rather be closer to Rosie's family after the fallout and said now Rosie can't get pregnant, they want to "permanently cut contact with Daniel, Meagen or anyone in our family who tells him it is just a baby name and he is angry Daniel told Rosie she should apologize to Meagen for being upset at her."

"I think Steve needs to take Rosie to counseling. She apparently went after the miscarriage but I think she needs more. To be clear I'm not saying she can't get emotional about a miscarriage. But it's just a baby name and no one owns it," she concluded and said: "Daniel and Meagen haven't done anything wrong and I agree with them that they shouldn't have to choose another name just because Rosie says so. Most people in my family agree."
