Video has surfaced of Ricky Pearsall being loaded onto an ambulance after he was shot in downtown San Francisco on Saturday.

In a video that has been circulating on social media, Pearsall is seen surrounded by emergency personnel as he and the group make their way to a waiting ambulance. Throughout the video, the NFL rookie is seen with his shirt off with blood streaming down the side of his body, seemingly as a result of the gunshot wound he sustained.

Although he was wounded, Pearsall appeared to be aware of what was happening, though he had a distressed look on his face for obvious reasons. Once he arrived at the back of the ambulance, Pearsall was seen walking up to a gurney - aided by medical personnel - and sat down as he waited for more medical attention.

Pearsall also had the right side of his chest covered up, seemingly the site of the gunshot wound, as that side of his body was covered in blood. Once seated on the gurney, Pearsall talked with medical personnel and was conscious as they loaded him into the ambulance.

It was revealed by the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) that Pearsall was one of the two people who were shot in downtown San Francisco. A thief attempted to steal his Rolex and in the scuffle, both men were shot, with the suspect also being in custody.

"On August 31, 2024, at approximately 3:37 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the area of Geary Street and Grant Avenue on a report of a shooting," the SFPD's statement read. "Upon arrival, officers located two male subjects suffering from injuries. Officers rendered aid and medics transported both subjects to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.

"During the preliminary investigation, officers learned one of the subjects attempted to rob the victim, San Francisco 49ers player Ricky Pearsall. During the attempted robbery, a physical altercation ensued, and both the suspect and victim were injured. The suspect is in custody and charges are pending at this time."

The 49ers also released a statement regarding the shooting, confirming Pearsall was shot though the organization elected not to include further details. "San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was the victim of an attempted robbery and shooting this afternoon," the team's statement began.

"He sustained a bullet wound to his chest and is in serious but stable condition. We ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ricky and the entire Pearsall family."

Pearsall's teammate, star receiver Deebo Samuel quickly posted a message of support to the rookie on social media. On X, the star wideout wrote: "He's good. Thank god!!!!" with a fingers crossed and a praying hands emoji.

Additionally, 49ers long-snapper Taybor Pepper posted a message of solidarity on his social media accounts as well. "Glad to hear Ricky is stable," the 30-year-old wrote on X with a praying hands emoji.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed also released a statement regarding the shooting. "This afternoon, there was an attempted robbery in Union Square involving San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall and he was shot," her statement read.

"SFPD was on scene immediately and an arrest of the shooter was made. My thoughts are with Ricky and his family at this time. We will provide more updates, including on his condition, as I receive them."

Pearsall was drafted in the first round in the 2024 NFL Draft by the 49ers. A talented receiver , he was expected to slot in behind Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk as the third wideout on the squad.

However, the 23-year-old had been dealing with a shoulder injury that has limited his production. Still, the shoulder injury was not serious enough to cause him to miss substantial time as the rookie was still able to practice the team.
