Steve Harvey 's life will be getting the biopic treatment .

The film which is titled Seventy-Two is in early development at Objectively Good Media (OGM). The authorized biopic will follow the life of the actor, comedian and TV host . The film will specifically center on the transformative 72 hours before Steve's 1993 performance at the iconic Apollo Theater in a career-defining moment.

The film will give the audience an intimate insight into the 67-year-old's life through the trials and tribulations that shaped his career. Steve went through many challenges such as homelessness when he left his stable job in sales to pursue a career in comedy at 26. Steve told PEOPLE, that he was homeless for three years and was living out of his 1976 Ford Tempo until his big break at the Apollo at 36.

According to Deadline , OGM developed the idea through Steve's experience of struggle and self-doubt as he prepared for that life-changing performance. The company brought the idea to Steve and his production company East 112 and Steve was sold.

"I’ve been reluctant to make a movie about my life for years, until I read the pitch for Seventy-Two. It focuses on one of the most difficult moments in my journey and career, and shows the world that hope is never truly lost. Wait until you see what we do with this," the Family Feud host said.

As of right now, there is no writer attached to the project yet, but Mohamed Kheir and Matthew R. Cooper from OGM and Steve as well his Chief Strategy Officer of Steve Harvey Global from East 112 will be producers of the film.

Kheir expressed the privilege it is to tell Steve's story and shared that "securing the rights to tell this story has been an incredible honor. Steve Harvey’s ability to turn his trials into triumphs is inspiring, and Seventy-Two will showcase the resilience and determination that defined those pivotal days. We look forward to sharing this powerful narrative with audiences worldwide."
