Travis Kelce responds to 'leaked contract' with Taylor Swift relationship end date

Travis Kelce ’s representatives have been forced to respond to a ‘leaked contract’ that stated when his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift would end.

The Kansas City Chiefs star and Swift have been dating for roughly a year, but a document that was posted on social media claimed that their love story was a publicity stunt sham. The paperwork appeared to have been created by Los Angeles-based firm Full Scope and revealed a strategy in which the couple would make an announcement they had split on September 28.

It outlined a proposed plan to release an official statement that would be “gracious, respectful and stress mutual respect” at the end of this month. Allowing three days “post break up” to “allow the initial media frenzy to settle and ensure clarity”.

Kelce’s representatives wholly denied that they have plans to split later this month when the document - written on the headed paper of his PR company - was spread online. A spokesperson for Swift didn’t respond to the document when she was asked for comment.

Prepping the statement they would release, the script is reported by the Daily Mail to say: “Example: Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other's personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time. They are both committed to their careers and personal growth. They remain friends and wish each other the best.”

The alleged contract also stipulates that the announcement would focus on Kelce’s “personal growth” by framing the breakup as a “natural part of life”. It would also highlight “his commitment to his career and his ongoing achievements in the sports industry.”

A spokesman for Full Scope insisted that they were “entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorised by this agency”. The representative added they have called in lawyers although they are not expected to find the culprit.

“We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents,” they said.

Kelce is said to be represented at the US firm by Jack Ketosyan and Pia Malihi. The former admitted to putting together ‘showmances’ with the idea of setting up celebrities for exposure. Speaking in an Australian podcast for Mamamia’s The Quickly in 2019, Ketsoyan revealed fake romances are fabricated to either promote projects or distract from unwelcomed publicity.

He said on the practice: “It's to be able to sell the hype of it – whether a concert, album… or getting people to go to see the movie, it all about the hype at the moment.” Swift was previously accused of being in a “showmances” with Tom Hiddleston to avert attention away from her breakup with Calvin Harris in 2016, though there is no evidence to suggest that is the case.
