Justin Thomas struggles in 2024 summed up by Scottie Scheffler footnote

Scottie Scheffler's caddie Ted Scott appears to have made more in prize money than two-time major champion Justin Thomas on the PGA Tour this campaign.

Scheffler dominated the PGA Tour in 2024, winning a whopping seven times throughout the season before going on to become the FedEx Cup champion. With his success on the golf course has of course come plenty of financial reward, earning just over $62.3 million thanks to his impressive form.

The world No. 1 has not been the only one to benefit, with his trusty sidekick Scott also taking his fair share of the winnings, with his reported tally sitting him inside the top-20 in the 2024 PGA Tour Money List.

In total NBC estimated that the caddie banked a cool $5,238,499.57 for his efforts alongside Scheffler, ranking him above one of the world No. 1's great rivals and Ryder Cup teammates in Thomas. By his usual high standards, Thomas struggled to find his best form in 2024.

The year prior had been even tougher for the 31-year-old, as Thomas missed the FedEx Cup playoffs for the first time in his PGA Tour career. And whilst there were improvements this campaign as the two-time major champion qualified for the season-ending Tour Championship, it was yet another year without victory for the Kentucky native.

This run saw him miss out on a Presidents Cup spot too, with Jim Furyk opting not to include Thomas as one of his captain's picks after the three-time Team USA member failed to qualify automatically. Thomas opted to take to social media on the back of his snubbing, posting a classy statement to his followers.

"I’m obviously very bummed to not be joining the boys in Canada for the Presidents Cup, but completely understand,” Thomas said. "Jim has put together a great team. I will be the first one pulling for them and watching, while using it as motivation to not miss a team event again as they are some of my favorite weeks I’ve had.

“It will be nice to have some time to work on things, [a] foundation event, some R&R, and even become a dad at the end of November! “While I’m excited for the off-season, I’m already looking forward to practicing and getting ready for Maui.

“Thanks to everybody for countless support and kind words as I always appreciate it. That’s enough of me getting in my feels for today.” As mentioned by Thomas, the 31-year-old is soon to become a father for the first time, with the Tour star and Gillian welcoming their child in the next two months.

JT deserves the bad times! His unethical lack of class accepting invitation by scumbag Zach Johnson to the Ryder Cup. He knew he didn’t deserve it, & both Bradley & Glover earned & deserved to be on team USA! JT played like crap in 2023, yet he stole a spot on the team out of greed & selfishness! You deserve this dirt bag! 🤮
