    Rapper Rich Homie Quan died at 34 in his Atlanta home as family is 'shattered and heartbroken'

    Rapper Rich Homie Quan died at 34 years old.

    Rich Homie Quan, who's real name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar, died the morning of Thursday, September 5 in his Atlanta home, according to his family and the local morgue, TMZ Hip Hop reported. The rapper's family told the outlet that they were "shattered and heartbroken" by his sudden death and are looking for answers as to what could have happened. No cause of death has been reported at this time.

    The rapper posted his last Instagram picture on Tuesday, September 3 which featured him adjusting his glasses while wearing a jersey. The caption read: "Vision clear even through the BS."

    His fans wrote their condolences in the comment section and many were in disbelief. One person wrote: "an my High School era favorite artist!!" Another person wrote: "OG !!! why they sayin you dead ?? wtf." A third person commented: "So sad man .. you got me through college. I know the whole 'I will never stop going in' tape from start to finish .. #restup." A fourth wrote: "They can’t say who influenced new Atlanta without your name. R.I.P shawty."

    Popular Atlanta rapper, Boosie Badazz was also in disbelief, confirmed the news on X, formerly known as Twitter. His first post read: "JUST GOT WORD @RichHomieQuan JUST OD !! JUST TALK TO WUAN THE OTHER DAY." His second tweet stated that the two were "just" speaking to each other. Boosie Badazz said he won't even forget Rich Homie Quan's "smile, the way he talked and his music."

    Boosie Badazz's last tweet also revealed that the two were creating new music together. He wrote: "WE GOT SOME GOOD A-- MEMORIES TOGETHER N THAT GO ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO MY FACE #restupquan WE WAS COOKING UP SOME S--- TOO."

    Rich Homie Quan made a name for himself in the music work in 2013 when he released Type of Way, which became a instant hit. He has many hit singles like Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh), Ride Out, Walk Thru featuring Problem and more. The rapper also collaborated with other rappers like Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Rick Ross and others.
