Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' Jennifer Affleck reveals plans to meet famous cousin Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck’s cousin-in-law Jennifer Lynn Affleck stars in the new Hulu series Secret Lives of Mormon Wives .

Since she carries the Affleck last name she sparked much interest given that her husband Zac is the Argo actor’s cousin, and the Oscar-winner is divorcing Jennifer Lopez . Coincidentally, the reality star has the same first name and middle name as Ben’s Latin pop star ex. Legally, the TV personality has the same exact name as J.Lo .

Mormon Jennifer talked before the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiere on September 6 about her and Jen being name twins, joking that she was the “original” Jennifer Affleck.

"Especially because my name happens to be not only Jen, but Jennifer Lynn Affleck, which is the exact same as JLo. She went from Jennifer Lynn Lopez to Jennifer Lynn Affleck, which is so crazy," she explained. The Enough star took on Ben’s surname after they married in 2022. Last month, the singer filed for divorce from Ben.

"People are very curious and wondering how we're related and it's so funny,” Jen told People. Speaking on the Good Will Hunting star and the family connection, Jennifer admitted that Ben was her “husband's cousin,” but they “never met him."

That’s because Zac is the famous A-lister’s first cousin once removed. Zac’s dad Dave Affleck is Ben and Casey Affleck’s first cousin. "Zac's dad has [met them], when [Ben] was very little," she continued. "I'm hoping to meet him one day, too!"

In the show’s first episode, Jennifer clarified her relationship with the Afflecks, mentioning that Ben and his brother Casey were more "like distant relatives." However, she admitted that she’d love to know their opinions on her new show.

"Hopefully they'll tune in and hopefully we can do a meet and greet," Jennifer explained. "They can tell me how the show is." Jennifer tends to joke about the familial connection on social media. In a video on TikTok, she gother hair done at her co-star Jessi Ngatikaura's salon. While there she rocked out to J.Lo's hit song Jenny from the Block.

Jennifer initially announced she had familial ties to Ben on TikTok in September of 2022, which was a few months after J.Lo and Ben’s first wedding in Vegas in July of that year. It was also in the wake of Jennifer Lopez’s name change.

“When you thought you were going to be the next JLO. But instead ... she stole your name & you’re busting it down to Ms. Rachel,” the Hulu notable wrote alongside a video of her dancing to Wheels on the Bus.
