Tyreek Hill performed a brilliant touchdown celebration just hours after being arrested but NFL cameras cut away from the Miami Dolphins star.

The wide receiver took to the field just hours after he was detained by police officers as he attempted to enter the Hard Rock Stadium for the Dolphins’ week one clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars .

But Hill appeared to be able to shake the ordeal and regain his focus for Miami as he scored a third quarter touchdown. Tua Tagovailoa’s pass found Hill on the 50-yard line, who was able to burst away from two Jaguars players and canter into the end zone.

Celebrating his touchdown that cut the score to 14-17 in the Jaguars' favor, an ecstatic Hill launched the ball into the crowd as he ran across the end zone. Hill eventually came to a stop and looked as though he was about to put his hands behind his back before the TV broadcast cut away to fans in the stands cheering.

Fan footage posted to social media captured Hill’s celebration that the broadcast missed, as the 30-year-old walked along with his hands behind his back before one of his Dolphins teammates pretended to hold the imaginary cuffs and continue to lead him away.

Videos emerged ahead of the clash at the Hard Rock of Hill being apprehended by officers, with ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reporting he was cited for reckless driving as a “verbal spat” with officers was said to have escalated tensions.

Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus revealed he had met with the wideout after his arrest, saying: "I just left Tyreek and he is getting ready to play today.” He also added the incident was “mind-boggling” and “completely unnecessary,” continuing: "I’m very distraught about it. We’re going to have to look into it.”

Footage appeared to show Hill being held on the ground and put in handcuffs for around five minutes. It was reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that veteran defensive tackle Calais Campbell was also on the scene and spoke to officers to de-escalate the situation.

Director Stephanie V. Daniels of the Miami-Dade Police Department released a statement on X, which read: "We are aware of the recent detainment of Miami Dolphins player Tyreek Hill by Miami-Dade Police Department officers. I have requested an immediate review of all the details surrounding the incident, and we are also reviewing available body camera footage. We will provide updates as further information becomes available."

Hill won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020 and has been selected for eight Pro Bowls. The wideout led the league with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns last season and is pivotal to Mike McDaniel’s offense. The Dolphins battled back from 17-10 down at halftime to win 20-17 with the last play of the game as Jason Sanders scored a 52-yard field goal. Miami takes on the Buffalo Bills next on Friday.
