Angel Reese forced to address pregnancy claims after season-ending injury

Angel Reese has been forced to address rumors that her WNBA season came to an end because she became pregnant - which she has denied while confirming she's considering undergoing surgery.

Reese saw her WNBA season cruelly come to an end after suffering a wrist injury this past weekend with the Chicago Sky set to miss out on having their star rookie as they hoped to make a playoff push. But since her injury, many had seemed to question it's legitimacy, with the 22-year-old receiving questions on whether or not she was pregnant.

She took to Instagram to tell her followers: "I'm not pregnant, that was never a thing. I want to make this crystal, crystal, crystal clear. I don't have a man to have kids. I don't have a ring to have kids. I'm 22 with no kids, and I'm not coming home to kids. So that's not gonna be a thing any time soon."

In the video, she explained: "Basically the doctors told me that I could either not get surgery or have surgery. The risk of not having surgery – I could literally have arthritis at 22 years old. That wasn't an option. The bone could literally crack and completely shatter. Right now, it's like a hairline… They're going to put a small screw in it. And I wasn't going for it getting any bigger."

After confirming her injury over the weekend, Reese wrote: "What a year. I never would have imagined the last bucket of my rookie season would be a 3 but maybe that was God saying give them a taste of what they will be seeing more of in Year 2 lol. Through it all, I have showed that I belong in this league even when no one else believed. All I have ever wanted was to come into the W and make an impact. I can confidently say I have done that and will strive to keep doing so.

"I’m filled with emotions right now that I have a season ending injury, but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next. Although this is God’s timing and not mine, I am finally able to give myself a physical and mental break."

Reese's Sky had been on a seven-game losing streak before winning this past weekend - looking to remain in the playoffs with six games remaining currently at 12-22.

While Reese's injury is a major blow for the Sky, it certainly will have repercussions for the rookie when it comes to individual accolades - with Caitlin Clark now being a shoe-in to win the Rookie of the Year award.
